Ingredients
Murtabak Dough
- 2 cups Flour All-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ cup Boiled water
Filling
- 200 gr minced meat
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1 Egg
- 1 Onion Chopped
- 1 Tomato Chopped
- 1-2 Green onion Medium- About 2 cups chopped green onion
- ½ tsp Black pepper
- ¼ tsp Red pepper
- ½ tsp Thyme
- ½ tsp Dry parsley
- ½ tsp Salt
- 8 tbsp Oil or butter to fry (3 tbsp butter and 5 tbsp oil)
Instructions
- Bring a cutting board and chop green onions.Finely chop the onion and garlic.Chop the tomatoes finely.
- Pour the flour and salt into a large bowl. Then add oil to the mixture and blend them. Gradually add the water while kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Then put the dough in a bowl, and pour some oil on it. Cover the bowl with a lid or damp cloth and let it rest for 30 to 60 minutes.
- Pour oil and butter into a pan and put it on medium heat. Let the butter melt. Add the minced meat. Then add onion and garlic. Add the spices and salt after frying a little. Fry the minced meat for about 10 minutes.Then turn off the heat and let it cool.
- Break an egg and add to the filling.
- Put a tray and grease it with a little oil. Grease your hands a little too. Divide the dough into two parts. Spread it with a handled rolling pin to make a thin layer. Put half of the filling in the middle of the dough.
- Pour some oil (or mixture of butter and oil) into a pan and put it on low heat. Fry the mutabbaqs.
To make a sauce
- 3 tbsp yogurt
- 1 tsp mint
- 1 clove garlic
- Juice of half a lemon
