Cuisine: Latvian
- 4 slices Rupjmaize bread or Rye bread
- 50 gr Oil or butter (Or combination of oil and butter)

Bring bread and slice it into pieces about 2-3 cm wide and put them aside. (If you have a Rupjmaize loaf).
Cut the bread slices into strips.
Then, rub butter to the pan.
Add oil and garlic.
Put the pan on the heat and pour your bread slices into the pan.
Turn the pieces after 3-4 minutes to know they sauté from both sides.
Sprinkle the salt on the bread slices.
Then, remove slices after frying and put them on the paper towel to absorb their excessive oil.
Tips for making Latvian garlic bread
Here are points that you can consider while preparing garlic bread:
- You can use oil to fry bread slices. I used a combination of oil and butter, because butter gives a better flavor and aroma to toasted breads.
- Add a pinch of mashed paprika to the garlic butter mixture for extra flavour.
- Once you don’t have access to Rupjmaize bread, you can use substitute options such as rye or sourdough.
